ELECTROCADIA

found this cool retro game cartridge in an auction recently. didn't recognize any specific brand or anything... but I was able to extract the game from the cartridge for the world to see!

GAMEPLAY

the game is a roguelike esque, infinite runner type game. as you progress further, the levels become harder/more complicated. there's no characters or anything. you just play as this little dot that hops around from node to node. there's eight different modes, plus a "global" mode that puts gems everywhere. looks like the goal of the game is to just get the highest score possible. or maybe, it's the best time? maybe both? idk, it's kinda a typical arcade game setup. anyway, would be neat to see people go for the highest score!

FEATURES

this game lets you choose which game modes are active, and even lets you enter a seed before you start playing, i guess in case you really wanna "master" one particular combo.

you can even change the color of your "electron". i think that's what it'd be called given the electric theming of this game.

the game came with some visibility settings. things like turning off motion blur and stuff. i added in a CRT filter over the game, to try to emulate how it may have looked back in the day. but you can also turn this off if you find it annoying.

NOTE

i found some weird glitchy artefacts, like it looks like every now and then a sprite can load in wrong. idk if this was just an error it picked up when transferring the game from the cartridge to my computer, or if the original devs just didn't have the game fully polished. but, it's pretty rare, so i'd just say ignore it when it happens.
